Bauble’ing with Deja Vu

I’m sure everybody I know has that one little shop in their local town, where you can stand and stare for hours and walk out with things you never anticipated buying. A shop packed with beautiful ornaments, hanging signs, picture frames, welcoming door mats and beautiful jewellery. That’s probably a third of what is actually in there, until December hit and this exquisite little store turned into a little Christmas heaven. Handmade cast iron racks in all shapes and sizes hanging from every available space with baubles…beautiful magical baubles dangling.

Deja vu is run by one of the most quirkiest, funny, kind hearted ladies I have met. Jenny turned this little gem of a place into a shop full of things suitable for any person that steps foot in there. I was fortunate enough to spend a day with her, helping set a few things up and introducing the twins to decorations that they can look at but not touch! Ha ha! Trust me the “don’t touch” part was extremely hard and we did bribe them with crisps and baby jake on the phone, not that it worked! Jenny was so wonderful though, it didn’t faze her what so ever and she scooped one kid up and helped me out (whilst still pricing up every little thing in there).

Baubles are a traditional Christmas decoration that I believe every tree should have, they capture the twinkling lights from all angles of the room and can make you stand and stare for just that bit longer. Now, I know these particular decorations can be a little pricey but it’s not if you just buy yourself a couple. Every year you just build up your collection and before you know it you have yourself a tree full of sparkly balls (excuse the language! I know some of you chuckled at that, hence why I left it in!) The problem with us (us meaning those of you who take the decoration thing seriously) is that we think we must spend hundreds of pounds on ornaments that really just go out of fashion. Stick with the traditional things and I promise you they will be used over and over again. Sometimes its worth spending £5 on a bauble that will last you many moons, I don’t knock the cheaper things but if you buy them every year you’re still really spending the same amount of money.

On this festive weekend get yourselves down to one of your local shops like mine, and treat your tree to something nice! (Oh dear, I actually sound like a tacky advert!) Anyway, if you live near the Enfield area then make sure you pop in and see this lovely lady, I can assure you, you will walk out with at least one thing that will make you smile! Keeping with the Christmas spirit if you mention Two Babies One Pram you will receive 10% off a bauble!

Have a sparkly bauble weekend. (Ok, I’m going to stop with this tacky writing now!)
